BEECH Class 2024/2025

World Book Day - 6th March 2024.

Don’t we all look fabulous! We all came to school as our favourite book characters! There was also had a visit from a very friendly dinosaur!

Fab February!

Beech class really enjoyed the space theme in February. They created their own solar system from styrofoam balls. They used their digital skill to research the features of each planet and then added a fun fact under their chosen planet.

After studying the moon landing in 1969 beech class learned that Neil Armstrong’s footprint is still on the moon. The students then created their own "moon print " in salt dough to take home.

Shopping Trip- budgeting

Beech class went on a fantastic trip out on Wednesday. Travelling on public transport and budgeting were the topics of the day.

The class took the 208 into town. All students travelled well. being aware of others on the bus and using their manners when getting on and off.

We then had the option to visit 3 shops. Penney’s, Aunt Nellie's sweet shop and Gino's Gelato. The students had to think carefully how to spend their budget of €10 if they wanted to purchase something in all 3 shops. Everyone managed to get everything they wanted.

We then popped back on the 208 and got back to school with big smiles and new achievements under our belts.

Well done Beech class. You represented your school fantastically when out and about.

Thanks to Sarah for her wonderful Brownie recipe

Volcano work

In November we had 2 transition year students visit us for a week each in Beech class.

Firstly we had Una who helped us with a science experiment based on motion. She helped us build catapults and launch tinfoil balls. We also had a bit of a competition to see who launched the farthest.

Then we had Alex who helped us with the study of time. He made us a colourful resource to help with analogue and digital time. Alex also loved the swing in the zip yard.

Snowy Day November 24!

Beech had a great trip to Blackpool with the choir. We sang our hearts out. We satisfied our appetites with some McDonald’s!

Happy Halloween from Beech Class and Ms Trunchbull!
